Terms and Conditions

Substance Abuse Prevention Institute (SAPI)

By registering for or participating in any program or service offered by Substance Abuse Prevention Institute (SAPI), you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

1. Programs and Services

SAPI provides educational and intervention programs, including but not limited to:

  • 72-Hour Driver Intervention Programs
     
  • Remedial Driving Courses
     

All programs are educational in nature and are not a substitute for legal advice, counseling, or medical treatment unless otherwise stated.

2. Eligibility

All participants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of participation. Valid identification may be required upon check-in.

3. Registration and Payment

  • Program fees must be paid in full prior to or at the start of the program unless otherwise approved by SAPI.
     
  • Fees may vary based on program type, room selection, or additional services.
     
  • Failure to complete payment may result in denial of participation.
     

4. Attendance and Completion Requirements

  • Full attendance is required to successfully complete any SAPI program.
     
  • Late arrivals, early departures, or missed sessions may result in removal from the program and/or failure to receive a completion certificate.
     
  • Certificates of completion are issued only after all program requirements are met.
     
  • SAPI does not guarantee acceptance of any certificate by a court or third party. Participants are responsible for confirming court requirements.
     

5. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and No-Shows

  • Participants are required to provide advance notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
     
  • Failure to attend a scheduled program or failure to provide adequate notice may result in a rescheduling or no-show fee.
     
  • Fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing by SAPI.
     

6. Conduct and Substance Use Policy

  • Alcohol, illegal drugs, and unauthorized substances are strictly prohibited before and during program participation.
     
  • Participants may not arrive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
     
  • SAPI reserves the right to conduct breathalyzer testing or other screening as permitted.
     
  • Any participant who violates conduct rules or substance use policies may be removed from the program without refund.
     

7. Communication Policy

SAPI communicates with participants using phone calls, text messaging (via Textline), and email for program-related purposes, including:

  • Registration confirmations
     
  • Scheduling information
     
  • Program reminders and instructions
     
  • Administrative questions
     

Text messaging is not used for emergencies, counseling, or clinical communication. By providing a mobile phone number, participants consent to receive program-related messages. Message and data rates may apply. Participants may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP.

8. Privacy and Confidentiality

SAPI respects participant privacy and handles information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Information may be shared with courts or referral sources as required for verification of attendance or completion.
     
  • Confidentiality may be limited in situations involving safety concerns, legal obligations, or mandatory reporting requirements.
     

9. Limitation of Liability

Participation in SAPI programs is voluntary. SAPI, its staff, instructors, and affiliates are not responsible for any personal injury, loss, or damages resulting from participation, except as required by law.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio.

11. Agreement

By registering for or attending a SAPI program, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
